Lake Union Dials it Up
Ask around Seattle's numerous marinas where to find the city's premier boat and yacht dealer, and you're almost certainly going to get directions to Lake Union Sea Ray. While the name comes from its long association with Meridian's sister brand, the recent addition of Meridian Yachts to its product line has effectively redefined the five-location dealership, making it Seattle's best source for Meridian sales and service.
The dealership has been a fixture of Pacific Northwest boating for years. With four showrooms and five parts-and-service facilities, numerous satisfied customers and a reputation for delivering exceptional boats and service, Lake Union Sea Ray has cemented its place in the region's boating community.
Lake Union toasted the addition of the Meridian brand with one of the region's most popular boating activities: a cruise to Roche Harbor (well, two activities, if you count the party that happens once you get there). Numerous Meridian Yacht owners attended this year's Rally @ Roche, which marks the 13th annual rendezvous at Roche Harbor. Lake Union Sea Ray co-hosted the party with Vancouver's M&P Yacht Centre, another well-known Meridian dealer, which serves greater Vancouver, British Columbia.
But it's not all play for the folks at Lake Union Sea Ray. Late last year, after months of planning and development, the dealership completed an ambitious expansion project and opened the dealership's newest store. Located on the east bank of Lake Union on Fairview Avenue East, the new store replaces Lake Union's previous Seattle location, on Westlake Avenue North. And as the dealership's President and CEO Kevin Roggenbuck describes it, the new digs are bigger and better by every measure.
"The term state-of-the-art comes to mind when we talk about this building," Kevin says. The new store offers more space for each of the dealership's operations, and it utilizes that space much more creatively. The store essentially has three showrooms. Inside the 16,000-square-foot building are two stories of showroom space, each boasting ample room for new models; a mezzanine level overlooks the light-filled ground floor, offering a birds-eye view of the entire interior. Complementing the airy showroom is a weatherproof on-water showroom, stocked with Meridian models prepped and ready for test runs. "You won't find another showroom quite like this one," Kevin notes. "Customers can immediately experience what these boats are like on the water."
Likewise, Meridian Yacht owners and customers living north of the Seattle area can also find expert sales and service support at Lake Union Sea Ray's on-water location in Bellingham. There, customers can easily take new models for test drives around scenic Bellingham Bay.
